TYPICAL YOGA RETREAT SCHEDULE

During your Retreat, you will enjoy varied sessions of yoga, meditation, nutrition, relaxation techniques and a breath of fresh air, walking in the delightful countryside or seaside. Participate in as much or as little as you like!

Day 1

7.00pm Opening Orientation for your Yoga Retreat

Treat yourself to a soothing aromatherapy Relaxing Massage or Deep Tissue Massage for £30 per half hour, £60 per hour, £80 for 90mins. Excellent Massage team who get rave reviews from yoga retreat participants! Book your Massage when completing your Intake Questionnaire (emailed after booking) or choose when you get to the venue, and we'll see where we can fit you in for a Massage during the retreat.

We’ll also be in contact once your booking is received, to see if you have any personal catering requirements or special needs. You can indicate these in the online Intake Questionnaire (link emailed with booking confirmation).

Full fee is payable in advance using the PayPal links above. Alternatively by Debit or Credit Card over the telephone to The Happiness Centre on 020 8749 3792. Please note Deposits are non-refundable. Deposits are only transferrable to a different date within 14 days of booked retreat. There is no refund for cancellations with less than 14 days notice. Full Payment must be received no less than 14 days prior to Retreat start date. If you book with family, friends or partner and would like to share a room with them (twin, triple or double, or request our large four-friends room with single beds, ideal for birthdays, hens and groups of friends), please request that when you book!

Beautiful Location

Our retreat locations for these relaxing and inspiring Yoga Retreats are held in either a delightful Georgian Farmhouse and newly renovated historic Mansion just outside the peaceful villages of either Canterbury, KENT or near Tunbridge Wells, EAST SUSSEX. Both locations have absolutely gorgeous Gardens, stunning scenery and magnificent walks that make them comfortable, intimate and serene retreat locations. Both locations are EXCLUSIVE for Yoga Retreats with The Happiness Centre, so you receive extra-special love from our extra-special venues and team!

Your Room with a View

Every room has a fantastic view across either beautiful pond or lush green fields. The bedrooms have been designed to be as relaxing and comfortable as possible - a vintage feel in a farmhouse that has been lovingly refurbished...They have really have put a lot of effort in, to make this beautiful retreat location a comfortable environment for a healthy, calming retreat space.

Prices are based on sharing. Should you require or prefer a non-sharing room, there is a supplement for the weekend, depending on availabilty.

Each of the bedrooms has been decorated in peaceful, vintage shades to help you feel relaxed and comfortable. A few rooms have ensuite, otherwise you will be sharing toilet and bathroom.

Open house

The living room is comfy sofas and cushions with a big open fireplace and lots of interesting magazines and books to read. We also use this space (overlooking lush greenery and pond with bright morning and afternoon sunshine streaming in!) for meditation sessions.

The kitchen is a huge modern farmhouse kitchen, equipped with everything we need. The windows are overlooking a pasture and often the heads of minature shetland ponies are snuffling through the fence.

The dining room, a lovely double windowed room with views out onto the pond and garden, has a long dining table where everyone can sit and enjoy meals together, candle–lit in the evening.



What to wear

The more relaxed, the better for this retreat .... jeans, tracksuit, in fact anything you feel warm, relaxed and comfy for seating, yoga sessions, self-relflection meditation sessions and walking. Bring a pair of walking boots or shoes for walking adventures. Yoga mats are provided (or you are welcome to bring your own yoga mat if preferred). Meals are informal and restful.

Meals

There is a healthy, balanced vegetarian meal provided on this particular retreat with a hearty meat option. No alcohol on this retreat, as it's an opportunity to transform some of your relationship with food and drink items that have perhaps been holding you back from feeling and looking amazing and full of vitality.

Nutritious and delicious cooking

Snacks, tea, water and juice are all provided. You can also take part in a few healthy juicing sessions so you can try out fruit & vegetable combinations! An excellent way to kick-start a detox over the weekend, if you want.

Travel

Yoga Retreats held near Canterbury KENT are a 15-20 minute taxi ride from Canterbury East or Canterbury West.

Yoga Retreats held near Tunbridge Wells EAST SUSSEX is only 5 minutes walk from the closest train station.

Upon booking, more travel details are emailed including suggested friday afternoon/evening train times. Helpful if you want to share a taxi from Canterbury to the venue.

We can discuss your personal driving and travel directions or advice on train tavel and transfers, should you need help.

The Yoga Teachers vary depending on schedule, however they are always outstanding and highly-experienced retreat teachers, often having worked with The Happiness Centre for a long time! We guarantee you will have extended and developed your yoga practise and had a lot of fun! Suitable for all levels of yoga student, from new/beginner to intermediate/advanced.

"When my girlfriend confronted me with the idea of going to a Yoga Retreat I must admit I wasn't the happiest man in the world. She did ask me to detach from a result and have no expectations (easy no?). We arrived at this amazing house in the countryside surrounded by green, fresh air and general peace on a Friday evening and from that moment I felt that that experience was going to be completely different from what I had in mind!

I have been practicing Tai Chi at The Happiness Centre....so it was great being outside in the morning, under a willow tree by the pond, listening only to birds singing, the wind and practicing Qigong and that became a new form of heaven.

Another of my worries was that by the nature of the event I would be a very hungry man as i didn't imagine yoga practcioners as great eaters, and before leaving London I was "forbidden" by my girlfriend to sneak a few extra treats into my bag. But boy was I wrong! I haven't eaten that well and healthy for that many days in a row, for a really long time. We were treated to a variety of options every morning for breakfast and amazing meals...

From that weekend, we manifested a great group of people that formed a connection. We supported each other using our own individual skills and characteristics and accepting mutual advise in how to grow in varied areas of our lives. Even if I cannot say or explain exactly what did shift in me that weekend, it is undeniable that something has. I have been back in London for more than 6 weeks and can confirm that whatever magic happened, wasn't just a feel-good relaxing "spa", it was something deeper and more meaningful, that has undeniably been shaping my life in a more positive way since.

Even if all you want to do is to get out of London or the place you are based (which seemed to be a common aim to almost everyone there), I can say that this is something that will be completely different to your ordinary getaways. It is an experience designed for those ready to live a life where they know there is more to it and there was a great opportunity to learn how to experience it on this retreat. Speaking of it, the only advise I can give you is, the one my wise girlfriend gave me: detach from a result and have no expectation and be ready to simply be."
